Step-by-Step Instructions:

Step 1: Preheat the oven to 350º F. Next, pour the canned apple pie filling into a food processor and blend until it’s nice and smooth.

If you prefer, mashing it with a fork works great too!

Then, in a bowl with an electric mixer combine the spice cake mix with the apple puree.

Step 2: Start by generously spraying non-stick spray onto your full sized silicone donut molds for an easy release.

Fill each mold with the donut batter. Don’t overfill the molds. Fill each silicone donut cavity about 2/3 full, leaving room for the donuts to rise as they bake. Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.

Allow the donuts to cool a bit before gently removing them. Avoid overfilling to prevent crust from forming. If that happens, a sharp knife can help you trim it away!

Serve them warm for a delicious treat—enjoy every bite!

🍋 Simply Made Suggestions…

  • Don’t overfill the molds. Fill each silicone donut cavity about 2/3 full, leaving room for the donuts to rise as they bake.
  • A piping bag or zip-top bag with one corner snipped off makes filling the molds much easier and less messy.
  • If you accidentally add too much batter, it may bake over the center opening and create a thin layer of crust. No big deal—once the donuts have cooled, carefully trim away the excess with a sharp knife.
