- 1 box of spice cake mix
- 21 oz apple pie filling & topping (Duncan Hines brand used)
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 Tbsp milk
Preheat your oven to 350º F. Blend the canned apple pie filling in a food processor until smooth, or simply mash it with a fork. Then, mix the spice cake mix with the apple pie puree!
Start by generously spraying non-stick spray onto your donut molds for an easy release. Fill each mold with the delicious donut batter and bake for 40-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Allow the donuts to cool a bit before gently removing them. Just a tip: avoid overfilling to prevent crust from forming. If that happens, a sharp knife can help you trim it away!
As your donuts bake, whip up the icing! Combine powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract in a bowl, whisking until smooth. Once the donuts have been iced on top, serve warm, and savor every bite!*Caution: Oven will be hot!
- Add more milk to icing mixture if icing is too thick.
