Sweet Hawaiian Sliders
Delight your taste buds with these scrumptious Sweet Hawaiian Sliders! Years ago, my friend Gina and I made these for a holiday party. She found an online recipe but read it wrong, so we improvised using what we had. Surprisingly, this turned out to be a happy accident because they were an instant hit! Perfect for brunch, these baked sandwiches are filled with melted cheese goodness and piled with deli meat. They’re also ideal for special occasions like Mother’s Day, Easter, or Father’s Day, or as a winning game day snack.

Step-by-Step Directions:
Step 1: Preheat the oven to 400º F. Place butter in a small sauce pan and heat over low heat until melted. Stir in the sugar, honey mustard and poppy seeds to make a glaze. Continue to stir for a couple of minutes until all of the ingredients are fully incorporated and the sugar has dissolved. Leave the pan on low heat while assembling the sandwich.

Step 2: Using a bread knife, carefully slice through the middle of the rolls to make a top and bottom. Don’t separate the individual rolls! Set aside the top of the rolls. Build your sliders by completely covering the bottom half of the rolls with Swiss cheese. You may have to cut some pieces in two. Next, layer on the ham, followed by the turkey. I like to leave folds in the deli meat rather than laying them flat. Then, cover the deli meat with slices of provolone cheese. Finally, add the top of the rolls back on.

Step 3: Place the sliders onto a baking sheet. You can line it with parchment paper if you’d like. You can also assemble the sliders on the baking sheet if you prefer.

Step 4: Crunch up the crispy fried onions (I just use a fork) and stir them into the butter/sugar glaze. Immediately brush the tops of the sliders with the glaze and bake in the oven for about 10 minutes. The top should be golden brown and the meat and cheese heated through. Carefully remove from the oven and slice through the perforations to make individual sliders. So good!

Tips:
- If using a larger package of rolls (16), use an extra slice of each meat and cheese. You won’t need to adjust the rest of the ingredients.
