Iced Eggnog Coffee

Christmas morning is the perfect time to indulge in this unique and delicious iced coffee. Eggnog ice cubes, instant coffee and milk are topped with creamy, frothy eggnog for the ideal holiday brew!

Eggnog Ice cubes Ingredients:

  • ¾ cup eggnog for eggnog ice cubes (makes 6-9 Ice Cubes approximately)

Eggnog Iced Coffee Ingredents:

  • ½ cup milk-whole or 2%
  • ½ cup eggnog (frothed)
  • 2 tsp instant coffee
  • ½ warm water
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • cinnamon-garnish
  • (festive or regular) ice cube tray
  • handheld milk frother

Step 1: Fill ice cube trays with eggnog and place them in the freezer for at least 5 hours; freezing overnight is recommended for best results.

For extra flair, I used festive ice molds, but a regular ice cube tray works just as well!

*If desired, you can simply skip this step and substitute regular ice cubes for eggnog cubes.

Step 2: Gently heat water in a kettle or in a pot on the stove to lukewarm. In a heat proof vessel, mix instant coffee and sugar with water, stirring with a spoon until dissolved. Add milk and blend together.

Step 3: Add the desired amount of eggnog ice cubes to a glass, then pour the coffee and milk mixture over them.

Step 4: Using a handheld milk frother, whip the eggnog in a separate vessel until frothy.* If you don’t have a handheld frother, you can quickly shake the eggnog in a sealed container to create foam.

Step 5: Gently pour over chilled coffee and sprinkle with cinnamon if desired. Enjoy! Add additional milk or eggnog if desired.

Tips:

  • Use festive Christmas themed ice cube molds.
  • I used whole milk for this recipe.
  • Substitute milk for almond milk, or vanilla flavored almond milk, unsweetened.
  • You can use regular water ice cubes and omit Step 1.
  • If you substitute non-dairy milk or use regular water ice cubes, the nutritional values will vary accordingly.
