Creamy Italian Dressing with Greek Yogurt

This Creamy Italian Dressing with Greek Yogurt is tangy, garlicky, and ready in about 5 minutes. A combination of mayonnaise and plain Greek yogurt gives it a creamy texture, while red wine vinegar, oregano, garlic, and a pinch of red pepper flakes bring the Italian-inspired flavor.

We originally made this dressing for our chopped antipasto salad, but it quickly earned a permanent spot in the refrigerator. Use it as a salad dressing, spread it on an Italian sub, or serve it as a dip for fresh vegetables. One easy homemade dressing, several excuses to make another batch.

Step-by-Step Directions:

Step 1: Combine all dressing ingredients in a small bowl with a whisk and store, covered, in refrigerator until ready to eat.

How to Store Homemade Dressing

Store the dressing in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Give it a good stir before serving, especially if it has been sitting for a while.

Because this homemade dressing contains Greek yogurt and mayonnaise, keep it refrigerated and don’t leave it sitting at room temperature for extended periods.

Simply Made Tips:

  • Use plain, unsweetened Greek yogurt—not flavored or vanilla. That would be a very different salad experience.
  • Fresh garlic has the strongest flavor, so adjust the amount to your taste.
  • Let the dressing chill before serving when possible to give the flavors time to come together.
  • If you prefer less heat, reduce or leave out the red pepper flakes.
