The Smart Move

Make the blueberry simple syrup ahead of time and keep it in the fridge.

Future you gets a really good drink in about 30 seconds and feels very organized about it.

Step-by-Step Directions:

Step 1: Begin by making the blueberry syrup.

Combine one cup of fresh or frozen blueberries, one cup of water, and one cup of sugar in a pot. Heat over medium-low heat. Stir occasionally until the sugar dissolves, then remove from the burner.

Cool the syrup completely, then strain it into a container and refrigerate.

Step 2: Add the pineapple, lime juice, and blueberry simple syrup to a shaker with ice and give it a quick shake—about 10 seconds, we’re not auditioning for bartender of the year. Strain into a glass with ice, top with sparkling water, and toss in a few blueberries.
