☕ When to Make This
- Weekend brunch
- Holidays when people are hovering in your kitchen
- “I need something easy but impressive” mornings
- Or honestly… whenever you have a can of cinnamon rolls staring at you
Step-by-Step Directions:
Step 1: Preheat oven to 350ºF. Place cinnamon rolls in a lightly greased baking dish. Set the icing aside for later. Pour heavy cream over the rolls and let it soak in.
Step 2: Warm one container of icing in a microwave-safe bowl until melted and pourable.
In a mixing bowl, combine:
- apple pie filling
- cinnamon
- brown sugar
- salt
- melted butter
- the melted icing
Pour the mixture over the cinnamon rolls. Cover and bake for 60–65 minutes. Uncover for the last 15 minutes.

Step 3: Once the cinnamon rolls are done, take them out and let them cool for a few minutes. Warm the remaining icing, drizzle it over the top, and serve—perfect for brunch or an easy dessert. Caution: oven is hot!

Tips (aka how to not mess this up)
- Let it sit 5–10 minutes → it sets up just enough to scoop
- Don’t skip the heavy cream → this is what makes it soft instead of dry
- Cover first, uncover later → keeps the inside gooey, top golden
- Warm the icing → easier drizzle, better coverage
🍏 Easy Variations
- Swap apples for peaches (it works, don’t question it)
- Add chopped pecans for a little crunch
- Serve with vanilla ice cream and just call it dessert
