Simple Syrup

Never overpay for simple syrup again with this easy homemade recipe! Simple syrup is a must have ingredient for many recipes including several cocktails and coffee drinks.

Ingredients:

  • cane/granulated sugar
  • water

Step 1: Add sugar and water in a saucepan and stir to combine.

Step 2: Cook on low heat, stirring occasionally, for 5 minutes, or until sugar crystals are completely dissolved. Let cool. Store in refrigerator for up to one month if using an airtight glass container.

Tips:

  • Our simple syrup is a darker because we use cane sugar. White, refined sugar will make a clear simple syrup.
  • Make as much or as little as you need, just use equal parts sugar and water. 1 cup of water and 1 cup of sugar will make about 2 cups of simple syrup (32 servings/tablespoons).
  • Looking for a sugar free alternative? Use a sugar substitute measure cup-for-cup such as granulated Stevia.
  • Add 2-3 cinnamon sticks to make Cinnamon Simple Syrup.
