Tips:

  • We love to use Hawaiian beer after we tried beer cheese dip in Maui. It has a lighter flavor. For a more traditional beer cheese, use Guinness.
  • Use cheddar cheese such as sharp or triple cheddar blend. Gruyere, Swiss, or gouda would also be delicious!
  • We prefer the flavors combined in this beer cheese dip recipe, but if you’re looking to kick it up a notch, a 1/4 tsp of garlic powder, paprika, and/or chili powder are great add ins!
  • If the dip thickens up too much, add a bit more half and half or milk.
