French Bistro Vinaigrette

A simple and quick version of the classic French Bistro salad dressing. There are many versions of this Parisian classic vinaigrette. Our recipe reduces the acidity and includes the lemony brightness of thyme. A favorite dressing for any salad.

Ingredients:

  • olive oil
  • red wine vinegar
  • dijon mustard
  • fresh or dried thyme
  • salt & pepper

Step 1: Pour all of the ingredients into a bowl or jar with a lid. Whisk with a fork or shake jar until mixed. Taste and add more salt, pepper, oil or vinegar accordingly.

Tips:

  • For a heavier dressing add more oil and for a more acidic flavor add additional vinegar.
  • Try adding shallots to the vinaigrette.
