Easy Moscow Mule Recipe (Single or Batch)

Moscow Mules have been one of my husband’s favorite cocktails for years, and thankfully they don’t require much bartending skill on my part. 😂 Made with vodka, lime juice and spicy ginger beer, they’re crisp, fizzy and ridiculously easy to make. I’ve also included a simple batch option so you can prep the vodka and lime ahead, then add the ginger beer when it’s time to serve.

Make Moscow Mules for a Crowd

For 8 cocktails, combine 12 oz vodka and ½ cup lime juice in a pitcher or covered container. Refrigerate until you’re ready to serve.

When it’s cocktail time, fill each mug or glass with ice and add 2 oz of the vodka-lime mixture. Top with 6 oz ginger beer, gently stir and garnish with lime.

Keeping the ginger beer out of the make-ahead mixture means you can prep early without sacrificing the fizz.

Simply Made Suggestions

  • 🍋‍🟩 Fresh or bottled lime juice works. One lime gave me just over a tablespoon of juice during testing. For an easy shortcut, use about 1 tablespoon bottled lime juice per cocktail.
  • 🫚 Use the ginger beer you like. My husband prefers Barritt’s Sugar Free Ginger Beer, but your favorite ginger beer works just fine.
  • 🧊 Keep everything cold. Chill the ginger beer and your batch mixture ahead of time so the ice doesn’t have to do all the work.
  • 🍸 Want it stronger? The standard cocktail uses 1½ ounces of vodka. You can adjust your own drink to taste. My husband certainly does. 😂
