Shredded Chicken Tacos

Make Taco Tuesdays a weekly tradition with this super simple crockpot recipe. This easy weeknight dinner is tasty and family friendly!

Ingredients:

  • boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • diced green chiles-canned
  • water
  • pkg. chicken taco seasoning mix
  • Optional toppings:
    • Shredded lettuce
    • Mexican cheese blend
    • sour cream
    • jar of salsa
    • shredded cabbage
    • hard or soft taco shells

Step 1: Place chicken breasts into the crockpot. Add diced green chiles, taco seasoning and water.

Step 2: Set crockpot for High 6 hours or on Low for 8 hours to cook.

Steps 3: After cooking, carefully shred cooked chicken with two forks.

*Caution- Chicken will be hot when shredding and removing from the crockpot.

Step 4: Serve shredded chicken over hard or soft taco shells and add toppings of choice.

  • 4 oz can of diced green chiles
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 package chicken taco seasoning

Instructions

  • Place chicken breasts into crockpot. Add diced green chiles, taco seasoning and water.
  • Set crockpot for high 6 hours or low for 8 hours.
  • Carefully shred cooked chicken with two forks.
  • Serve with hard or soft taco shells. Add toppings of choice. ie. sour cream, salsa, shredded cabbage, shredded lettuce, and Mexican blend cheese mix.
