Step-by-Step Directions:
Step 1: Thoroughly wash and dry the oranges and lemons. Cut 1 orange and 1 lemon into 1/4″ thick slices and place in the bottom of a pitcher or punch bowl. Pour the brandy and simple syrup over the slices and let sit for about 15 minutes.

Step 2: Use a muddler, spoon or potato masher to muddle the fruit, brandy and syrup together. Pour in a bottle of red wine.

Step 3: Pour Simple Red Sangria over ice in wine glasses and garnish with lemon and/or orange slices.

Tips:
- You can use whichever red wine you prefer. I usually use an inexpensive burgundy wine or red blend.
- When making this for a large gathering, I use a 3 L bottle of Carlo Rossi Burgundy Red Wine, 1 cup of brandy, 1 cup of simple syrup, 2 oranges and 2 lemons.
- You can prep the fruit, brandy and syrup the day before and refrigerate, covered, until ready to serve.
