Huli Huli Sauce

Enjoy at taste of Hawaii 🌺 with this Huli Huli Sauce! Use it as a marinade for grilled chicken, steak or pork and serve it with rice and grilled pineapples. 🍍 My husband lived in Hawaii as a kid and loved this dish! We were fortunate enough to visit Maui a couple of years ago and as soon I tasted this dish, I knew I needed to make it at home. For an easy weeknight dinner, try our Baked Huli Huli Chicken!

Ingredients:

  • light brown sugar
  • ketchup
  • canned pineapple juice
  • soy sauce
  • Worcestershire sauce 
  • apple cider vinegar
  • fresh ginger, grated (or ginger powder)
  • garlic cloves, minced
  • sesame oil

Step-by-Step Directions:

Step 1: Place all ingredients in a large jar and shake util well blended. Alternatively, place all ingredients in a bowl and whisk until blended. Store in the refrigerator until ready to use.

Tips:

  • There’s a ready made Huli Huli sauce available at World Market, Amazon, and other international grocery stores. It tastes great and makes an easy dish even easier!
  • In Hawaii, huli means “to turn” and this dish is huli huli because you turn it over often while grilling!
  • This recipe makes enough to marinate about 2 1/2 pounds of meat.
