Chocolate Puff Pastry Dessert

Ingredients:

  • puff pastry sheets
  • KitKat or Hershey’s chocolate bars
  • egg
  • milk
  • powdered sugar

Step 1: Preheat oven to 400º F. Roll out the puff pastry and place chocolate of choice along the lengthwise edges. Using a sharp knife, cut puff pastry into approx: 5 lengthwise pieces and roll opposite edges of the puff pastry together.

Step 2: Combine and whisk egg and milk to make an egg wash. Using a basting brush, apply a little egg wash to the top of rolled puff pastry to create a shiny crisp top when baked. *You will have extra egg wash leftover.

Step 3: Place puff pastry rolls onto a parchment paper lined baking sheet. Place into preheated oven for 28-32 minutes or until golden brown. Let pastry cool slightly before sprinkling with powdered sugar. Drizzle some melted chocolate on top if desired. Serve immediately and enjoy!

*Melt the chocolate in a microwave safe dish for 45-60 second sessions until melted. Just stir between sessions.

*Caution- Oven and baking sheet will be hot!
