Ingredients

Filling:

  • 4-5 cups fresh strawberries (hulled & quartered)
  • ¼ cup white sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 Tbsp cornstarch

Topping:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ¾ cup old fashioned oats
  • cup granulated white sugar
  • cup packed brown sugar
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¾ tsp cinnamon
  • ½ cup butter (1 stick-melted)

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350ºF (175ºC). While the oven warms up, prepare a large baking dish. Generously grease the bottom and sides with creamy butter or a light spray of non-stick cooking spray. This will help prevent your dish from sticking, ensuring everything comes out beautifully. Once you’ve done that, set the dish aside.
  • In a spacious bowl, combine the quartered strawberries, a splash of vanilla extract, cornstarch, and white sugar. Toss gently until the strawberries are beautifully coated, then let them rest for 5-10 minutes before transferring to the greased baking dish.
  • In a separate mixing bowl, combine the flour, packed brown sugar, granulated sugar, salt, and cinnamon. Drizzle the warm, melted butter on top and mix until you achieve a delightful crumble. Evenly sprinkle this delicious mixture over the fresh strawberries.
  • Bake at 350ºF for 35-40 minutes until the strawberries are bubbling and the topping turns a beautiful golden brown. Let it cool a bit before savoring—enjoy every bite!

Notes

  • If the crumble is starting to burn, place a sheet of aluminum foil over it near the end of the baking time. Otherwise, continue baking.
