Equipment

  • baking dish (any size)

Ingredients

Filling:

  • 4-5 cups fresh strawberries (hulled & quartered)
  • ¼ cup white sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 Tbsp cornstarch

Topping:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ¾ cup old fashioned oats
  • cup granulated white sugar
  • cup packed brown sugar
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¾ tsp cinnamon
  • ½ cup butter (1 stick-melted)

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350ºF.
  • While the oven warms up, prepare a large baking dish by generously greasing the bottom and sides with creamy butter. This will help prevent your dish from sticking, ensuring everything comes out beautifully. Once you’ve done that, set the dish aside.
  • In a large bowl, combine the quartered strawberries, a splash of vanilla extract, cornstarch, and white sugar. Toss gently until the strawberries are beautifully coated, then let them rest for 5-10 minutes before transferring to the greased baking dish.
  • In a separate mixing bowl, combine the flour, packed brown sugar, granulated sugar, salt, and cinnamon. Drizzle the warm, melted butter on top and mix until you achieve a crumble. Evenly sprinkle this mixture over the fresh strawberries.
  • Bake at 350ºF for 35-40 minutes until the strawberries are bubbling and the topping turns a beautiful golden brown. Let it cool a bit before serving—enjoy every bite!
