- 4 avocados
- ½ red onion
- 3 garlic cloves
- 2 plum tomatoes
- 1-2 jalapeños
- ¼ cup cilantro
- juice of 1 lime (or 2 Tbsp lime juice)
- salt (to taste)
Begin by finely dicing the red onion, jalapeño (seeds removed), and tomatoes, and mince the garlic. Then, finely chop the cilantro. Cut open the avocados by slicing through the long side all the way around, then twist them to open the two halves. Carefully remove the pit and scoop insides into a bowl. Use a potato masher or fork to mash the avocados into desired size chunks.
Add everything from step 1 to the avocados and stir to combine. Squeeze the juice of 1 lime (or add 2 Tbsp of bottled lime juice) into the guacamole and salt to taste. Serve immediately and enjoy!
- Preserve guacamole by storing in an airtight container. Smooth the top down and gently pour a layer of water over the top. Keep in the refrigerator and pour water off when ready to eat.
