Equipment

  • food processor
  • electric hand mixer
  • parchment paper
  • baking sheet
  • large mixing bowl

Ingredients

  • 8.16 oz A package of Oreo cookies (regular)
  • 8 oz cream cheese (full-fat, and softened to room temperature)
  • 10 oz white chocolate (Ghirardelli White Vanilla melting wafers used)
  • 10 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips (Ghirardelli brand used)
  • festive sprinkles

Instructions

  • Place cookies into a food processor and pulse until cookies turn to crumbs. Place into a large mixing bowl.
  • Place room temperature cream cheese into the same bowl as the Oreo crumbs and, using an electric hand mixer, blend together until smooth.
  • Using your hands, form bite-sized balls and place them onto a lined baking sheet. Chill in the fridge for 1 hour. *If the mixture is too sticky to form balls, chill the Oreo and cream cheese mixture in the fridge for 15-30 minutes.

Melting Chocolate Instructions:

  • Melt semi-sweet chocolate chips in a microwave safe dish for 40 second sessions. Stir between sessions. *When melting white chocolate, set microwave to 50%power.

Decorating Instructions:

  • Split the Oreo Balls into two batches and decorate half of the Oreo balls with white chocolate and the other half with semi-sweet chocolate.
  • Decorate half of the Oreo balls with white chocolate and the other half with semi-sweet chocolate. Using a fork in one hand, place one of the chilled Oreo balls onto the fork. Using a spoon in the other hand, drizzle the melted white chocolate all over the Oreo ball, covering it completely. This will be very messy at times, but do your best to cover the Oreo ball completely.
  • Place back onto the parchment-lined baking sheet and immediately decorate with festive sprinkles. Repeat with the rest of the half batch of Oreo balls.
  • Continue with the second batch of Oreo balls by repeating the decorating instructions with the melted semi-sweet chocolate chips.
  • If desired, you can be creative and drizzle semi-sweet chocolate on top of the set white chocolate.
  • Chill completed Oreo balls in the fridge for at least 1 hour to allow the chocolate to set before serving. Once the Oreo balls are set, they can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.

Notes

  • I prefer to use Ghirardelli White Vanilla melting wafers in my recipes. It is specifically made to melt.
