- 1 pkg 8 oz. cream cheese (neufchâtel or original, softened)
- ½ can pure pumpkin puree (15 oz can)
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon (use up to 1 tsp)
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
In a large bowl, beat softened cream cheese with a hand mixer on low for 30 seconds. Add the powdered sugar and mix on medium for 30 seconds or until smooth and creamy. Scrape the sides of the bowl with a spatula if needed.
Add the canned pure pumpkin puree and mix on low for about 1 minute until smooth. Sprinkle in the cinnamon and nutmeg and mix on low speed then stir and scrape bowl to fully incorporate ingredients.
Cover and refrigerate until you're ready to serve. Serve with vanilla wafers, graham crackers, apple slices, or ginger cookies.
- Use pure pumpkin, not pumpkin pie filling.
- About half of a 15-ounce can of pumpkin works well. A little more or less is fine.
- Keep refrigerated until ready to serve.
- Double the recipe for a larger gathering.
