Slow Cooker Hot Cocoa

Never buy premade cocoa packets again with our homemade hot cocoa! This rich hot chocolate drink is so easy and great for parties! Plus, the slow cooker keeps it at the perfect temperature.

  • Serves: about 6 (8 oz) mugs

Ingredients:

  • cocoa powder
  • sugar
  • salt
  • water
  • milk
  • vanilla extract
  • optional toppings:
    • whipped cream
    • marshmallows
    • chocolate syrup

Step 1: Add cocoa, sugar and salt to your slow cooker and whisk together. Heat water in the microwave for 1 minute and whisk into cocoa mixture in the slow cooker.

Step 2: Pour in milk and vanilla extract and whisk until throughly combined. Set slow cooker to High and heat for 1 hour. Reduce heat to Keep Warm and enjoy!

Alternative:

In a hurry? Make this on your stove! Start by adding the cocoa, sugar and salt to a pot. Add the hot water and whisk over low heat. Whisk in the milk and vanilla extract. Cook over medium low heat until it reaches the desired temperature. Reduce heat to low and enjoy!

Tips:

  • We make ours with whole milk and cane sugar. Looking to reduce calories? Use a sugar substitute that measures cup for cup such as granulated stevia and replace whole milk with fat free milk.
