Ingredients

  • 1 large white onion (diced)
  • 1 bell pepper (any color, diced)
  • 1 jalapeño (diced for a spicier pico de gallo, keep the seeds for less spice, omit the seeds)
  • 2 ripe tomatoes (diced)
  • pinch of salt
  • juice of 1 lime
  • a handful of cilantro (roughly chopped)

Instructions

  • Using a sharp knife, dice the white onion, tomatoes, bell pepper, and jalapeño, then place them in a medium-sized mixing bowl.
  • Add the juice of one lime and a handful of roughly chopped cilantro. Mix the ingredients together and let the mixture sit for at least 10 minutes so the flavors can marinate and blend. Enjoy over fish, chicken, or pork or served with tortilla chips.
