- 5 skinless, boneless chicken breasts
- 1/4 cup chicken broth
Arrange the boneless, skinless chicken breasts in the slow cooker. Pour ¼ cup of chicken broth over the chicken.
Cover and cook on High for 2–3 hours or Low for 4–5 hours. The chicken is done when it reaches 165°F in the thickest portion. Cooking times can vary depending on the size of the chicken breasts and your slow cooker, so begin checking at the earliest suggested time.
Transfer the chicken to a cutting board or shallow bowl. Let it rest for several minutes, then shred it using two forks. Stir in a little of the cooking liquid to keep the chicken moist.
Use caution when removing and shredding the chicken because the slow cooker, chicken and cooking liquid will be hot.
