  • lean ground beef
  • ketchup
  • dijon mustard or regular
  • Worcestershire sauce
  • shredded cheddar or Colby cheese

Step-by-Step Directions:

Step 1: Warm the oven to 375°F. Get the peppers ready by slicing the tops off of the bell peppers and scoop out the seeds. Place them upright in a 9×13-inch baking dish.

Step 2: Separately make the ketchup, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and topping sauce (Mayo, ketchup, mustard, garlic powder, and chili powder), put them in bowls, and place them in the refrigerator for later use.

Step 3: Add a teaspoon of olive oil to a skillet and cook the ground beef over medium heat. Add the ketchup, mustard, and Worcestershire sauce to the skillet when the meat has cooked thoroughly. Stir well and remove from the stovetop. Fold in ½ of your shredded cheddar cheese.

Step 4: Begin to stuff the peppers. Spoon the beef filling into each bell pepper, packing it in well! Add a ½ cup of water to the pan to allow steam to help the peppers cook. Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 30-35 minutes or until peppers are tender.

Step 5: While the peppers are cooking, make the topping. Combine the mayo, ketchup, mustard, garlic powder, and chili powder in a bowl. Once the peppers have finished cooking, add the topping, garnish with the remaining cheese, and add fun toppings like pickles, diced tomatoes, or crunchy lettuce. Serve hot!
